This fall our theme was “Global Communion – an International Dialogue.” Amid the bucolic setting of upstate New York we discussed what different religions share in common in terms of values, faith expression, etc.
We had a very rainy retreat weekend, so instead of apple picking in the beautiful Catskill region, we enjoyed popcorn and videos, not to mention an evening of bowling! We enjoyed yoga, talking about our work at the different mission sites, and shared our stories and hopes for how we’d like peace to happen in our world.
We commissioned 7 new volunteers: Olivia, Ann Marie, Kuba, Ruby, Philippe, Anja and Yvette! It was a memorable weekend, where new friendships were forged, and our inner selves renewed.
The Commissioning Ceremony was unique in that it was shared in the Jubilee celebration of five (5) Little Sister Jubilarians. Each one was uniquely affirmed in her/his "call and sending forth" sharing a common bond of mission.
